The confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson also serves as an example of how the underlying principles of the United States government declared in writing in the United States Declaration of Independence, that all human beings “are created equal” and endowed at birth (not endowed by the government) with certain unalienable rights, were successfully applied within a system of checks and balances. 

These founding principles in conjunction with a system of limited government powers directed at securing such unalienable individual birth rights not only protect against tyrants and the tyranny of the majority, but make it possible for individuals, such as Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, to meaningfully contribute to the integrity and efficiency of the government in which she has served and will serve.
